Unable To Load Clonecd Device Driver For Mac

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.setup () I'm trying to install a new hard drive on a Compaq Deskpro EN Small Form Factor PIII-800 system. Win2000 installation went fine, video and LAN driver installation went fine, when I tried installing the driver for the on-board sound card, I got an error message ' SystemRoot system32 driver xxxxxx.sys device driver could not be loaded. Error Status was 0xc0000034' (the xxxxxx shows the name of the sound driver).
I tried installing in safe mode, I tried several different driver files, nothing worked. I tried disabling the on-board sound and installing a PCI sound card and got the same error. When I look in Device Manager, I get a 'This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)' message. The troubkleshooter brings up the following 'Device Manager Error Code 31 - This device depends on another device that is not functioning correctly.'
Suggestions/help very much appreciated as always. I'll probably try my hand at DSDT editing soon to see if i can get somewhere with that. Well after a lot of playing around with different options, i haven't moved forward very far. Dell mac drivers.
